ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Sanctuary Scholarships
Sanctuary Scholarships have been set up to support students fleeing conflict or war in their home country.
A Sanctuary Scholarship will cover the entirety of a students’ tuition fees at undergraduate or postgraduate level to allow them the opportunity to attend ºìÐÓÊÓƵ.
ºìÐÓÊÓƵ is a – a university that welcomes asylum seekers and refugees to the community and fosters a culture of acceptance and inclusion for all.
The scholarship will provide a 100% course fee discount for your chosen course (replacing any departmental or other ºìÐÓÊÓƵ scholarships or bursaries you may already have been awarded).
The scholarships are being 100% funded by University funds.
Eligibility criteria
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants need to meet the following:
- Be holding an offer (conditional or unconditional) for an eligible undergraduate programme starting in September 2027.
- Show evidence of exceptional academic achievement.
- Live in a region of conflict/war, such that their lives or the lives of their family are in danger, or such that they could be forcibly displaced due to persecution.
- If you, or your family, at risk of imminent imprisonment, injury, death or persecution.
- If you are currently in the UK but were to return to your home country, your life or safety would be at much greater risk.
How to apply
Students may only apply for the scholarship after an offer for a place on one of ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s degree courses has been made.
Students who are in possession of an offer (conditional or unconditional) of a place on an undergraduate or postgraduate taught course can apply for the scholarship using the application form below.
Applications will be initially shortlisted and the final decision on the awards will be made by a selection panel of senior staff of the University.
