Social Secretary

The social secretary will be required to be responsible for all social activities of the hall, providing a range of different events; Work with external partners to organise events and promote Local Businesses in 红杏视频; Responsible for Hall Day, Winter and Summer Ball, Freshers and Re-Freshers; Consult and work closely with Warden team and Chairs.

Ocean Harrington-Ellis

Since arriving at Bakewell I've been out every week, hosted great pres for every event, and got familiar with the social aspect of 红杏视频, so I know what it takes for an event to be good. If successful my main priority would be to make every social event as entertaining as possible for everyone in Bakewell. I want the Freshers events to be a place where people can find their group and feel comfortable to be themselves in an unfamiliar setting by setting up good punch parties, costume themes and nights out that every can enjoy. Throughout the year I'll organise a variety of socials, ranging from punch parties, pub nights and balls to make the year as memorable as possible while working with different Businesses and even societies to bring something unique to every one. I'd work closely with the comittee and Warden team throughout to ensure these events run as smoothly as possible and that everyone stays safe while having a good time.

Dominykas Bijeikis

I’m applying for social sec because I like bringing people together and meeting new people in socialable and organized meaning in a great fit for the position. I believe I am a great planner as I’ve hosted the best weekly pres at Bakewell. I’ve enjoyed what the current social secs have organized for the freshers and would love to do the same. I’ll aim to organize a variety of fun, affordable socials, listen to everyone’s suggestions, give plenty of notice for events and make sure everyone feels included.

Alfie Handley

I have started 红杏视频 as a social student attending as many social activities as I can. I am talkative and responsible. As a social sec I would aim to make freshers feel safe, comfortable and included on their first few weeks as well as help them have a great time through affordable, fun socials.

Sports Secretary

(2 positions available) The Sports Secretary will promote Intramural sport; Organise teams for ODE's and weekly league games; Manage sales and inventory of IMS kit; Book sports pitches for training and additional events; Attend trainings and meetings training.

Louie Marchesi

I DON’T NEED A MANIFESTO. I NEED RESULTS.
I am nominating myself for the Sports Secretary role because I want to help Bakewell climb the IMS rankings, strive for wins in every event and bring the best out of everyone by getting more residents involved in sport.
With me on the board, there is no way I’m letting Bakewell finish 10th overall in the IMS rankings, or come 2nd in the Handball ODE (Elvyn I am coming for you). As an AU basketball player who also gets involved in as much IMS and recreational sport possible (even if I may have an injured wrist or a game the same day), I’ll bring enthusiasm, commitment and a competitive mindset to the role.
I am a strong believer in the saying “there is no I in team”. I will encourage ALL residents to get involved, from competing to supporting, I will promote upcoming fixtures and competitions, and ensure Bakewell is a hall that people are proud to say they represent.
I can’t promise every win, but I can promise ambition, organisation and determination to help Bakewell reach its potential.

Georgia Poulain

As a Sport Sec, I want to make sport an easy and fun part of being in Bakewell and to encourage people to participate in sport whether that be competitively or just trying something new! I’m aiming to bring the Bakewell family together through sports and through organising well run events, supporting our teams and creating opportunities for everyone to take part. I will bring enthusiasm to the role whilst making sure Bakewell is well represented throughout the year. #RiseOfBakewell

Priya Paskaran

I want to help make Bakewell IMS Sport the BEST it has ever been! As a Sport Science student, sport is something I genuinely love, and I want to bring that enthusiasm, energy and commitment to the role. I want to build a strong sporting community where everyone feels involved and excited, whether they’re playing or supporting. Sharing a house with the running social secs, as well as thoroughly enjoying socials myself- I plan to organise many post-match and post-ODE socials with them, bringing both teams and Bakewell supporters together for fun pub trips and activities. This will help make IMS sport more than just the matches and also about the BAKEWELL team spirit! I also plan to introduce a Player, Cheerleader and Block of the Week to recognise sporting achievements and brilliant support, with small prizes for the winners to encourage participation and to get more people down to the matches. I am very committed to this role as you would have already seen through my campaigning and I am ready to carry that same energy to make this the best year for Bakewell sport! ROB!!! 馃惢鉂わ笍 LET’S WIN BAKEWELL!!!

Antonio-Raul Iglesias-Leeming

I’m not going to bore you with a long message about why I should be Sports Sec. Just know that with me as your Sports Sec, I’ll make it my priority to ensure Bakewell becomes THAT team everyone takes seriously. 馃挭馃弳
Having competed in IMS As football myself, I know just how competitive IMS can be. I’ll use that experience to make sure every Bakewell team is competing at the highest possible standard.
Let’s make Bakewell the team to beat. 馃敟

Rag Representative

The Rag Representative will organise and run fundraising events; Promote LSU RAG events; Build volunteer teams for RAG raids; Signpost members who are completing their fundraising; Attend RAG meetings.

Anna Clark

I'm running for RAG Representative because fundraising is something I'm genuinely passionate about. This academic year I'm taking on a charity skydive with a fundraising target of £500, as well as trekking to Everest Base Camp where I'm aiming to raise up to £4,500 for charity. Both challenges have shown me and continue to show me the amount of planning, promotion and determination it takes to fundraise successfully.
If elected, I want to help get more students involved in RAG by promoting events, building strong volunteer teams, and making fundraising feel accessible to everyone. I know from experience that fundraising can sometimes feel overwhelming so I'd like to help students find the support and resources they need to achieve their goals, showing students how fundraising can be impactful and an enjoyable experience.
I'll be committed to attending meetings, and working with the RAG committee to organise successful events. Above all, I want to help raise as much money as possible for great causes while making RAG a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved in Bakewell.

Welfare & Diversity Representative

The Welfare & Diversity Representative will organise appropriate events; Promote LSU W&D events; To signpost wellbeing support within university; Ensure any in-hall events are appropriate; Attend Welfare & Diversity meetings.

Saoirse Dunphy

Hey I’m Saoirse and I’m running for welfare and diversity rep, you should vote for me to be an approachable and friendly person to offer wellbeing advice, help organise fun and inclusive welfare events and to generally ensure you feel as supported as possible during your time as a Bakewell resident. A couple ideas I’d like to bring to the team are big screenings in the hub such as traitors, I’m a celeb, xmas movies etc, ensure there are more evening sober socials and contributing to improving students’ experience of getting support for wellbeing and mental health. So vote Saoirse for Welfare rep to have your back, support you and contribute to the inclusive and welcoming environment that Bakewell has to offer !!
